Tahitian prince reunited with princess

Prince Raanui Daunassans-Pomare inspects a $2 million c1785 painting of Tahitian princess Poedua, which once belonged to his grandmother. The portrait by John Webber is currently being restored in New Zealand. Poedua was taken hostage by Captain Cook during his third great voyage around the world. via stuff.co.nz
